There is a motel in Las Vegas, Nevada called "White Sands Motel." It is a decrepit, downtrodden, dumpy out of business trailer park motel squatted in by an awesome old gold -miner lookin' bastard. The crazy thing about this place is that it is right on the STRIP! It is on Las Vegas BLVD right across from the famed Luxor Hotel and Casino, the pyramid of the strip. But the real reason I'm writing about this place is the empty pool in the parking lot. I noticed it on my way back to the luxor after copping a twelver of Miller High Life. At first I didn't even notice the thing had already been skate proofed by a shitload of rocks and debris on the floor of the shallow end and deep end. I wanted to skate it anyway so I asked the old timer if he new where I could get a skateboard, and he said ,"Git the hell outta here!" And I said, " Dude you are sitting on a gold mine right here, with this empty pool you could have the first skateboard casino on the strip." Then I asked him if I could take his picture and he said ,"NO!" but I took his picture anyway.
